Concordia University – Public Art

One of the very first projects that I worked on at Concordia was to migrate several websites from the old template into the newly redesigned look of concordia.ca, which was launched March 2, 2011. One of my favourites pages that I worked on were the Public Art pages. I created a landing page that featured all the public art works at the university. When you hover over each image you get the name of the artist and a description about the artwork.

Another part of this project was to create a google map mashup – that was really fun! Check out the next page to see my mashup.

tball designs website

This is my website that I created as a personal project in order to showcase my print portfolio. I made it into a one page website with vertical scrolling using scripts downloaded of the internet. To showcase my works I used a lightbox script. Another feature I added was that the background changes every time you reload the page. Right now this website is on a free hosting site, which I found loads a bit slowly sometimes. To see it live follow this link. Software: Adobe Dreamweaver CS4

Candy Shop – Final Project

For our final project in web design we had to create another online store website. My website was selling Madonna CD’s. The website was designed from scratch using HTML and CSS. I incorporated a Flash intro with some Madonna music to get the customer into the mood! I added a jquery Carousel, a script I found on the internet, to showcase the CD’s and a lightbox to the jquery carousel so that customers would be able to see the back covers of the CD’s. Javascript was used again for validation, similar to the one used in “Book Magic” website. The css stylesheet switcher was used  again but using images  (little squares) instead of text. The only difference here we were shown how use the include PHP function and using PHP we created a contact form. Very basic PHP but it was fun! This was one of my favorite websites – it has a little bit of everything! Visit site.

Book Magic Website

This project consisted of creating a website for an online bookstore using HTML/CSS and javascript. We had to include a css stylesheet switcher and javascript validations. Since we were able to use javascript for this assignment I decided to add an accordion script to display the books. Although I didn’t write the javascript code for the accordion (that is for programmers!) I had to figure out how to include it and set it up properly into the website.  The other part of this project was to create very simple javascript functions to validate the order form. Using the internet to find regular expressions for our validation also led us to many other validation scripts that we ended up using as examples. Again this site is live on a free-web hosting site (which sometimes loads slowly) – view here.
